We have been capturing this family since their first sweet girl was born. Every time they ask us to capture their growing family at their home it is an honor and a privilege. In-home photo sessions are a great way to capture intimate photos of those you love. The soft light that spills through your windows creates a natural moody and warm feel. COVID has definitely created obstacles to many of our normal ways of doing and being but in-home photo sessions are still possible depending on your level of comfort and caution.

Kayla and Wes chose the loveliest day to declare their forever love to one another and that day was Loving Day. I’m sure you’re aware that interracial marriage was not always legal. Loving Day is the anniversary of the United State’s historic court decision to legalize marriage interracially. Having their wedding day Loving Day was the best way to celebrate their love.
Their wedding was held on the terrace of the Indiana State Museum, overlooking the canal. It was absolutely stunning. The museum terrace was a beautiful location for their first look and their ceremony. Indianapolis’ downtown city skyline was their backdrop.
We are so truly honored that Kayla and Wes chose us to be their photographers. This west coast couple chose us to capture their wedding and it is one of the highest compliments. Enjoy these lovely images from their Loving Day!

Wedding season has officially begun for the McKissics! We kicked it off this year with our new friends Tom and Becky. Their barn wedding was held at the lovely Willow Creek Barm, in Fortville IN. It was the perfect start to a long season. A small intimate barn wedding with some of the kindest people we have ever met. You could sense Becky’s southern roots in the warmth, compassion, and easy pace of their day. No matter what was happening, all that really mattered was that they were uniting their lives together. It was a beautiful wedding for two beautiful people and we are honored to have been able to capture it. Enjoy these images of their day.

We love any opportunity to shoot in the city. We love the buildings, alleyways, and rooftops. So when one of our favorite families gave us complete creative control of their family session, I had to make it a city location. The rooftop of a parking garage may not seem very scenic but you will be surprised at the magic the right photographer can create. What do you do with your photos? Posting is good but something more tangible would serve you and your loved ones in a far greater way. When this session was booked they were clear on the purpose of this session being to capture a family photo to display in their home. I love that because so many times those images are not displayed and the McKissics are no exception to this mistake. Olayhemmie had a vision and we all worked together to accomplish that. Not to mention, how easy they made this session. I mean check out how beautiful their attire is. Olayhemmie was also getting ready to celebrate his birthday, so he had to get a couple of individuals in a custom suit by House of Buray. Let’s all be more like this family and take the time to display our photos. You can get them printed and framed, on canvases, or in a photobook.
